How to Make Minced Meat (Salpicón)



Lanigui Catracho brings you a new video on how to make Minced Meat. In Honduras we call it Salpicón.


Ingredients

- 3 LB Beef Round

- 1/2 Medium White Onion

- 1/2 Green Pepper

- 4 Cups of Water

- 4 Cloves of Garlic

- 1/4 Bunch of Cilantro

- 1-1/2 TSP of Salt

- 1 Medium Red Onion

- 1/2 Bunch of Mint


Instructions:

BOILING BEEF

1. Cut the meat in three pieces (As shown in Video)

2. Place meat into a medium pot

3. Add 4 cups of water

4. Add 4 Cloves of Garlic

5. Add 1/4 of Green Pepper

6. Add 1/4 bunch of Cilantro

7. Add 1/2 White Onion (medium)

8. Add 1-1/2 TBS of Salt

9. Cook the meat for 30-35 minutes in a pressure cooker pot. In a regular pot it can take up to 1hr to 1-1/2hr

10. Poke the meat for readiness. (Ready when tender)


CHOPPING INGREDIENTS

1. Slice 1 medium red onion

2. Chop 1/4 of Green Pepper into small pieces

3. Chop 1/4 Bunch of Cilantro

4. Chop 1/2 Bunch of Mint


PREPARING THE MINCE BEEF

1. Cut beef into small pieces then mince it well

2. Put the minced beef into a large bowl

3. Add chopped red onion, cilantro & mint

4. Mix all ingredients well

5. Add the juice of 2 bitter/sour oranges

6. Add the juice of 1 lime

7. ******* Add 1/2 to 1 cup of the juice produced by the boiled beef. Salpicon is usually dry meat but you can add beef juice to moisten as desired

8. Mix all ingredients well.
